Celebrating Earth Day and Spring! 🌼🌍
This week, we celebrated Earth Day! We read a fun book by
Todd Parr and shared simple ways we can help our planet, like picking up trash,
watering plants, and using natural sunlight by turning off classroom lights.
As spring blooms, we see crocuses popping up and tulips
brightening homes. We did a directed drawing of a tulip and then used water
colour to paint them. We are all amazing artists!
After discussing all the changes that are starting to happen in Spring, we began transforming our "Winter Corner" into a "Spring Corner" adding green grass to the landscape, tree buds, and some insects and animals which are important pollinators in Spring!

On Wednesday morning, we had a special concert with a band
from British Columbia.
Thank you for coming to our Spring Celebration concert! We had so much fun preparing our songs for our families!
Kindies are going Swimming starting MONDAY!!
Our lessons are the week of April 28-May 1
**Homework practice**Have your child take a bath at home in their swimsuit. Then get out of the bath, towel off, get dressed. Roll the wet swimsuit in the towel and place in a plastic bag. (it's too wet to go in the backpack.)
On our swimming days, if possible, have your child wear their swimsuit under their school clothes. This will allow for a quick transition at the pool to the change room and the pool deck for their swim lesson.
Here is a swimming bag checklist!
1- swim suit (worn to school under clothing- no underwear) 1- towel1- clean pair of underwear1- plastic or reusable bag for wet items**Optional- goggles if your child is a swimmer already!
Label all items with your child's name, including towel tags
and swim goggle straps, to prevent mix-ups in the busy pool area. With over 100
items from both AM and PM kindies and grade 4 students at swim lessons daily,
this will help ensure belongings are easily identified.
