Splashing into Summer: A Fun-Filled Week of Learning!
This week was bursting with excitement and discovery! We
watched our ducklings swimming and learned all about their WEBBED feet. To make
it even more fun, we tried on flippers to experience what it’s like for the
ducklings! We also learned that ducks PREEN their feathers to spread a special
oil that makes them REPEL water.
Did you know? Ducks are omnivores—meaning they eat both plants and bugs! We celebrated this by creating a special science page in our journals to show everything we learned.
On Wednesday, we enjoyed a funny story called We Are
Growing by Laurie Keller. Then, we drew our very last kindergarten
self-portraits—our “This is ME in JUNE” drawings!
In honor of the summer solstice, we read a beautiful story
by Métis author David Bouchard called We Learn from the Sun. The
students loved painting their own bright, shining suns to celebrate!
Please remember to continue sending a school-sized backpack, water bottle, snack, and appropriate clothing—including sun hats and hoodies each day next week. We’ll keep our daily routine going smoothly, with extra outdoor time if the weather stays nice!
Next week, we will be sending home your child's indoor shoes, along with a Ziploc bag filled with their artwork, important papers, and their visual journal. Your child has worked so hard this year, completing daily activities and showcasing their learning. These journals are full of their growth and progress—take some time once things settle down to look through them with your child. They’ll be so proud to show you all they’ve accomplished!
The CBE calendar has designated Thursday June 26th as AN EARLY DISMISSAL DAY and final day of classes system wide. The Grade 1-6 classes will run 9:10am-1:40pm

Families will be able to view online student report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 from
June 25 – July 25, 2025
Report cards for the 2024-25 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed.
The school will NOT send home a paper copy.
Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.
