December 16-20, 2024

More Gingerbread Adventures this week.....

What do Gingerbread Pirates need the most? – A Ship!  We had fun making boats and testing to see how they float and move in the water!

How do you catch a gingerbread man?  Here are some of our ideas…
Run really fast, ride a skateboard,  jump on a bike, use a fishing rod, drive a Lamborghini, get in front of him and catch him by surprise!

Then we read a story about some creative traps to lure the gingerbread man. We drew pictures of our favorite parts of the story like the sticky icing forest, a blanket filled with candies, a train, a net, some magic blocks…We even celebrated fancy day while we learned about Gingerbread traps!

On Wednesday we had "Special Hat Day" and reviewed all the amazing gingerbread stories from December in order to vote on our favorites. We used clipboards to walk around and ask each other: "Which Gingerbread story was your favourite?" We marked down the results and looked at our graph at the end to see which story was most popular!

Gingerbread Man on the Loose in School inspired us to go on a scavenger hunt to look for a gingerbread man in our school! Everywhere we went, the gingerbread man left us clues to find him: hallways, gym, music room, library, staff room.  We asked so many teachers along the way... Mr. Collins, Ms. Garner, Mr. Toews, Ms. O'Brien. They didn't have him.

Finally, we found him back in the classroom and he brought us gingerbread cookies!!

And some Gingerbread house fun!

Have a wonderful break!
